Stay in the centre, not outside it

Most accommodation options near Oundle are in the surrounding villages, pleasant enough, but you'll need a car for everything and you won't experience the town itself. Oundle is compact and beautiful, and the best way to visit is to be in the middle of it. From One Market Place, the school's main entrance is a five-minute walk.
